Espostoa
In the wild, Peru to Ecuador, these columnar cacti can reach the size of smaller trees however in cultivation they are different. The size grows to 3’ & unlikely to have more than just one stem.
Even though the stems are covered with white hairs, many people fail to see the painful outcome by them touching the cacti. The reason being that the stems are sharp & the white hair stops people from thinking about it. Obviously they aren’t as bad for those in peoples houses but can be in the wild.
The Espostoa lanata, from Peru, is the most commonly kept cacti of this genus. They are easy to grow from seeds & as said above, great to see.
