Notocactus
The generic name is in Greek & if translated to English, it roughly means southern cactus as they're found in Southern America between Brazil, northern Argentina and Paraguay.
Their shape goes from dwarf globular to columnar types & they can be either solitary to clustered. The flowers come from close to the centre of the cactus & forms funnel-shape with the colours being yellow to magenta.
Notocactus magnificus comes from Brazil & other countries near it. The blue-green cacti has many angled ribs with slender yellow spines. Mine has clustered however that isn't always the case. Up to now I haven't seen the yellow flowers & from what I gather, if I did see them they will be large.

As once was typed here, I was unsure of its species but someone at the Chelmsford branch of BCSS told me it was Notocactus scopa.
I've recently taken more pictures of it as the flowers are fanastic. It you couldn't see it the petals are yellow & maroon anthers.
