Recomenda-se que os jogadores escrevam suas ordens por extenso, evitando as abreviações. Por exemplo, escrevam “Army Liverpool - Yorkshire”, não “A(Lpl) - Yor”. A razão disso é que os jogadores costumam escrever abreviações erradas, às vezes. Se, ao escrever em Inglês, vocês não tiverem certeza dos nomes das províncias, cliquem em Idiomas Diferentes. Isto deverá mostrar as províncias no seu próprio idioma, ao lado dos nomes em Inglês.

Lembrem-se que a variante Gunboat é um jogo sigiloso e, como definido nas Regras, não haverá diplomacia entre os jogadores exceto através das ordens. Se você acidentalmente descobrir a identidade de um outro jogador, você não poderá falar com ele sobre a partida. Se você o fizer e for descoberto, você será eliminado.


O Sorteio

Eu e meu filho, Graeme, fizemos o sorteio para as Quartas de Final. O mesmo método usado no Torneio 'Admiral' anterior foi repetido neste sorteio.

Os nomes dos jogadores foram colocados todos juntos e o primeiro jogador escolhido foi designado para a Áustria-Hungria na primeira partida, Albion. O jogador seguinte recebeu a Inglaterra, e os demais receberam França, Alemanha, Itália, Rússia e, finalmente, Turquia.

O mesmo processo foi repetido até que o último jogador recebesse Turquia na última partida, Zenta.


Nomes das Partidas

Os nomes das partidas são baseados em nomes de navios cujos proprietários eram uma das Sete Grandes Potências. Como vocês sabem, Diplomacia se passa em 1901; entretanto, estes navios não estavam necessariamente no mar em 1901, mas sim em algum momento do Século XX.

Abaixo, vocês verão uma tabela com a primeira coluna mostrando os nomes e uma imagem dos navios, e a segunda coluna dá uma breve história a respeito de cada um.

Para aqueles de vocês que são originários de uma das Sete Potências e acham que minha grafia do nome do navio ou navios está incorreta, minhas desculpas; entretanto, esses nomes vieram de uma série de livros escritos em Inglês, o que é uma possível explicação para a diferença.


Árbitros (GMs)

Na tabela abaixo, a terceira coluna é o GM para a partida e seu respectivo endereço de email.

Em breve, eu irei escrever para os GMs e darei a eles os detalhes necessários para suas partidas. Notem que eles precisam executar certas atividades antes que eles possam entrar em contato com vocês; portanto, não escrevam a eles antes que eles escrevam a vocês. Se vocês não receberem um email do seu GM em cinco dias, escrevam para mim.

Os GMs têm demonstrado sua capacidade para mim e, portanto a decisão deles é final.


Avanço das Quartas de Final para a Final

Dado o número de jogadores, serão disputadas 25 Quartas de Final, 7 Semi-Finais e a Final.

Como dito nas Regras, serão promovidos das Quartas de Final para as Semi-Finais os 25 vencedores + os 24 segundos colocados = 49. Das Semi-Finais para a Final, serão os sete jogadores vencedores.

Se vocês estão em dúvida sobre os terceiros colocados e não leram as Regras, vocês deveriam lê-las. Se o seu Inglês não é muito bom, as Regras foram traduzidas em um bom número de idiomas.

Construída em 1898 em Blackwall, Londres oriental, ela foi lançada em 21 de Junho, No entanto, um terrível acidente aconteceu. Duilio
Launched on 24th April 1913, this Italian battleship was reconstructed between 1937 – 1940 & her name was slightly re-named to Caio Duilio. In September 1956, she was removed from naval list. Doug Stewart

Gangut

Hessen
This German battleship was in the Braunschweig Class & was the only one of its kind to be present at the Battle of Jutland in WWI. It not only survived that battle but also WWI. She was turned into a radio controlled target ship. She was involved in WWII & at the end of that war; she was taken over by the Soviet Navy. In the early 60s, she was scrapped. Ally Bain

Highflyer

Jaureguiberry
Built in La Seyne the French battleship was launched in 1893 & completed in 1897. Fore & aft, she was armed with single 12" guns together single 10.8" guns on either beam. She was scrapped in 1934. Ally Bain

Königsberg
On the 12th December 1905, this light cruiser was launched. At the start of WWI, she was patrolling German East Africa. During WWI, she struck many British ships & sank the City of Winchester. In July 1915, she was scuttled but its cannon was rescued by the Germans & used for a long time against British & colonial troops in East African campaign. Ally Bain

Lion
At the Battle of Dogger Bank, January 1915, this boat was the Royal Navy's flagship. Three German battle cruisers concentrated their fire at her & when eventually damaged, Rear-Admiral Beatty transferred his flag to Princess Royal. Kester Bearne

Medjidieh
This Turkish cruiser was originally named Abdul Mecid but renamed in the same year it was launched, 1903. She & other Turkish ships were sailing towards Odessa to bombard it however, 15 miles from the target she sailed into a mine & sank. The Russians salvaged, re-built & named her Prut. Later in that World War, Germany captured the cruiser & soon in May 1918, she was returned to Turkey. There was another major re-build in 1927 & finally in 1948, she was broken up for scrap. Messudieh
She was launched in October 1874. At beginning of WWI, the Turks used her as a stationary guard ship near Chanak in the Dardanelles. On December 1914 a British submarine sank her. Andy Scott

Radetzky
Launched on 3rd July 1909, this Austrian-Hungary battleship was used in the British Coronation Review in 1911. During WWI, she was involved in shelling the batteries of Montenegran. At the end of the war, she was ceded to Italy & in 1920 was scrapped. Doug Stewart

Wien
To those who cannot translate the defence ship’s name, it is Vienna in English. This ship was in the Monarch class & on the 10th December 1917, it was torpedoed by an Italian motor boat, MAS.9. Queen Mary
The British battleship was launched in 20th March 1912. In WWI, she was involved in the Battle of Dogger Bank & the Battle of Jutland. At the Battle of Jutland, the German ships Seydlitz & Derfflinger repeatedly hit her, which meant she sank. The loss was immense with only nine survivors out of the 1,266 crew. Ally Bain
