'Admiral' Gunboat Competition III
May Update
If you do not already know, the first Quarter-Final has finished with Austria-Hungary going the solo in Jaureguiberry. Regarding the 2nd placed country, France had the higher number of SCs but the player will have to wait until all Quarters have finished.
If you have forgotten the qualifications to the Semis, all 1st placed players go through together with 24 2nd placed players. Regarding who becomes 1st & 2nd placed players, read from Rule 17:
http://www.alb-gsb.com/diplomacy/admiral/admiralrules.htm.Holidays
To those that live in the Southern Hemisphere, I'm not sure if more holidays happen in the next few months as that it the case in the Northern Hemisphere. Either way, note that each player is entitled to an extension on the Deadline but remember you only get one extension. If you go through to the Semi, then that allowance starts from starch.

As mentioned before, if you have something you would like the other players to know, let me know & if I think it is worth it, I will add it to the monthly updates.
I've been asked to mention about the tournament called Diplomacy World Cup. The tournament is the traditional style of play, meaning all players can write to each other, etc. From what I gather the idea of this tournament is for it to look like the World Cups', i.e. you represent your nationality with the idea of winning for not only yourself but also your country. It's a bit like 'Admiral' as at the end of this Competition, I always state the country the winning player comes from & so far, in both 'Admiral' I & II the winners were both French.
I'm not going to state any more other than it is due to start in Sept 2007 & the site, which is a French site, will host Diplomacy World Cup:
