'Admiral' Gunboat Competition III

November Update

The Semis are very interesting games with some showing great battles, others showing no countries alliances but others do.  To make sure I don't do a GM involvement, I'm not going to write a game & say it has this & another game has that.  Click on the link below & you'll see what I mean, heck, it might increase your own Gunboat knowledge.  J

With regard to alliances in Gunboat games, sometimes I'm asked if two players, who appear to be allied, know each other & are discussing their moves.  I can't be 100% sure but due to a number of things, I'm very confident that moves used weren't discussed.  To those who aren't totally sure, go to the Semis & from S01 observe the games to their current adjudication.  Within that, you should see tactics that encouraged an alliance.  Regarding the player who submits them, remember that they will sit & hope that the other country did see the mannerism & therefore works with it.  Like all forms of Diplomacy, alliances are seen but either not acted upon or maybe not seen at all.  Oh yes, I've had the last happened to me in a variety of games.  L

Due to Yawl Tide, I'll be delaying the games.  To give an example, if I adjudicate on the 23rd Dec, the next Deadline will be two-weeks later, 6th Jan 2008.  Remember though that if I have a full set of orders & none has provisional written beside them, I can adjudicate before the Deadline.

As for Pamiat Azova, I did receive an apology from Franz Joseph & that apology is not just to me but also to all of us.  Thanks Franz Joseph for that apology.

To you all, I wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
