Rounds

Round 1 - Division 1 - 9th Sept 2009
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Gabriel Germany Peter Russia Greg
Jim Austria-Hungary Ally England Richard
Kester England Carl Italy Richard
Brian F Italy John Germany Todd

Todd's comments, "Gabriel & Jim got their second choice with Carl & John getting their first choice".

Round 1 - Division 2 - 9th Sept 2009
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Richard Turkey Greg Germany Steve
Michael Germany Jon Turkey Carl
Todd England Andreas France Ally
Brian O Italy Steve England Kester

Kester's comments, "Two G vs T matches and two more early appearances for the IDIII strongest nation ... mind you, I think E got its results in D1 last year, not D2".

Round 2 - Division 1 - 1st Oct 2009
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Gabriel France Jim Russia Richard
Peter Italy Ally Germany Todd
Kester France Brian F England Steve
Carl England John France Jon

Todd's comments, "Round 1 saw an E vs F (E victory) and we have 2 of them here. Round 1 also saw an I vs G (still ongoing) and we have one of those here. F vs R is a new matchup for IDIV, though it appeared often in years past".

Round 2 - Division 2 - 1st Oct 2009
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Richard England Michael Russia Carl
Greg Italy Jon Austria-Hungary Ally
Todd Germany Brian O France Ally
Andreas Turkey Steve Germany Kester

Kester's comments, "All get their first preferences, resulting in further E/R and G/T match-ups while two games will be fought between close neighbours: none closer than I/A chosen by Greg and Jon! Germany is the only power to make two outings this round".

Round 3 - Division 1 - 1st Nov 2009
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Gabriel Russia Ally Turkey Steve
Peter Germany Jim France Jon
Kester Germany John Austria-Hungary Richard
Carl Germany Brian F Austria-Hungary Todd

Todd's comments, "Germany played by 3 of the home countries, 2 of those against Austria-Hungary"!

Round 3 - Division 2 - 1st Nov 2009
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Richard Russia Jon England Carl
Greg Russia Michael Austria-Hungary Kester
Todd Austria-Hungary Steve Italy Peter
Andreas Germany Brian O England Ally

Kester's comments, "Could this be a new ERA? Those three powers are on the field twice in this round. Amongst it all, Messrs Hucknall meet again with Richard no doubt looking to even the HC score as ER meet once again in the match. Todd, two wins already notched up, faces Steve across the narrow width of paranoia-inducing Adriatic".

NB the players' preference list is now showing under the country they're playing.

Round 4 - Division 1 - 1st Jan 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Gabriel Turkey Kester Austria-Hungary Todd
Peter Austria-Hungary Carl France Jon
Jim Turkey Brian F France Todd
Ally Russia John England Richard

Todd's comments, "Everybody gets their first pick".

Round 4 - Division 2 - 1st Jan 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Richard Austria-Hungary Todd France Kester
Greg Austria-Hungary Andreas England Richard
Michael France Brian O Russia Richard
Jon Germany Steve Russia Peter

Kester's comments, "2 Austrias and 2 Russias all face Western powers. Predict cold winds from the east and icy conditions".

Round 5 - Division 1 - 1st Feb 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Gabriel Austria-Hungary John Italy Richard
Peter Turkey Kester Italy Steve
Jim Germany Carl Turkey Todd
Ally Austria-Hungary Brian F Germany Jon

Todd's comments, "7 of the 8 players chose an 'off-side' country some time in the first 4 rounds. So they get no choice about their country selection. The 8th player, Carl, gets rewarded for his patience by getting to decide who he will put up against Jim's Germany".

Round 5 - Division 2 - 1st Feb 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Richard Germany Steve France Ally
Greg Turkey Todd Italy Kester
Michael Turkey Andreas Italy Peter
Jon Russia Brian O Germany Carl

Kester's comments, "Three outings each for Germany, Italy and Turkey (the latter two paired twice; and once also in D1, in fact): carefully hoarded until R5, or unfortunate dregs? I think opinions may be divided"!

Round 6 - Division 1 - 1st Mar 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Gabriel Italy Brian F Turkey Steve
Peter France John Russia Todd
Jim Italy Kester Russia Jon
Ally France Carl Austria-Hungary Richard

Todd's comments, "Some people have no choice, and others make their choice based on what they _don't_ want rather than what they do want. Such is the peril of round 6..".

Round 6 - Division 2 - 1st Mar 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Richard Italy
F
Brian O Turkey
A-H
Steve
Greg England
F
Steve Turkey Todd
Michael Italy
I
Todd Turkey Carl
Jon France
I
Andreas Austria-Hungary Peter

Kester's comments, "A sudden flock of Turkeys: the Sultans will be hoping that is only in name and not nature, though two of them face their nemesis in Italy. In saying that, R5 has two Turks at least currently doing well against the little green men. Andreas and Jon have set convention aside and drawn Austria vs France, a tricky pairing all round and interesting for the observer".

Round 7 - Division 1 - 1st Apr 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Gabriel England Carl Russia Jon
Peter England Brian F Russia Richard
Jim England John Turkey Steve
Ally Italy Kester Turkey Todd

Todd's comments, "Carl has an unenviable R/E matchup to try to stay on top. Jim, currently in second place, will hope to get more than a draw out of an E/T matchup. The obligatory Ally/Kester grudge match will be I/T this year, a matchup that has been all over the map this year. And Gabriel and Brian jockey A/F in hopes of climbing into the top 2".

Round 7 - Division 2 - 1st Apr 2010
Home Player Home Country Away Player Away Country GM
Richard France Andreas Russia Todd
Greg France Brian O Austria-Hungary Carl
Michael England Steve Austria-Hungary Richard
Jon Italy Todd Russia Steve

Kester's comments to follow.
